Words from Waco Tea Party
Politics. That's the name of the game. For a politician, regardless of mascot, the name of the game is job security, and that means, bringing home the pork. So we have some group in West Montana that wants a pony show at the fair, but can't afford it? Well let's write our Congressman! So shmoe with a job in California, no doubt gives plenty of dough to Uncle Sam every April 15. Why is he paying for a pony show? So Congressman Dolittle can keep his job. Republican... Democrat... They're all the same, and they spend more than we have. We're in debt.
For the 6 years George W. Bush had a friendly Congress, they spent like drunken sailors bringing home the pork. Republicans. Since then, we've had bills passed for $414 billion, $700 billion, $787 billion, bills proposed for over $1 trillion and a budget passed for $3.55 trillion that puts us another $1.2 trillion in the hole this year. Democrats & Republicans.... Big spenders, both.
"We The People" are fed up with this. We are "Taxed Enough Already." The federal siphen for funding has come up dry. The tax-payer vein has been tapped. We believe it is time to get back to the basics of our Constitution. It is time to remind those who serve us in government that the Constitution was written by "We The People," and that it is our contract with government to limit its power over us. The Constitution is the limit of the government and the freedom to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness" belongs to The American People.
Freedom and liberty are not divied up by a government subsidy or program. They are found in our daily pursuits to improve our lives. It is apparent that the parties understand nothing but power, and that is why the tea parties are not theirs. They are ours. They belong to us, "We The People of the United States of America."

Crumbling Foundations
Nearly everywhere you go these days, Christianity is under attack. You usually hear about it during Christmas. People can't put up the Nativity scenes or they can't say "Merry Christmas" they have to say "Happy Holidays" instead.
Now. "In God We Trust" is threatened. To be removed from our currency.
Where did all this come from? Well. Hopefully, my logical ganderings at the people that are at the forefront of these attacks, may shed some light on it, as well as some of my personal observations of the TYPE of people that "Have to" make every effort to (in their minds) separate "Church and State".
You'd be scratching your head and pulling your hair out to actually figure it out. Truth be told, it has nothing to do with anything political. Nothing to do with anything that affects our great country. It is simply a vie for attention. A minority attack against the majority. Sadly.... The majority of the types of people that are attacking religion, are Liberal Democrats. Why? It stems from the overall self-important attitude, that most Liberals hold as a mantra over themselves. (I said it had nothing to do with anything political, it really doesn't, just pointing out who are the majority of the attackers against Christianity)
Now, I say "sadly", because it is sad. It shows how far the minority of Americans, that hold to that self-important attitude, have de-evolved. They want something done about Religion and Country. They feel SO strongly on it, that they do not realize the impact or the damage those attacks do to the Country.
The United States of America, was founded on a firm belief in GOD. A foundation on which, was built a country, by many religions, many cultures and many races from all over the world. No matter the color of the skin. The foundation made this country strong, and still does. It can hold the weight of more.
But those that want to attack Christianity, for their own self-important reasons, or even their personal hate for ....well, themselves or the country in general... Chip away at the foundation, weakening it... so that all the sacrafices made by all those people from different religions, cultures and races, who BUILT on that foundation.... are for nothing.
The attackers weaken the country by chipping at the foundation it was built on. They destroy what was built already.
Why not work on fixing or replacing the windows? Paint the walls? Add new doors? Upgrade the phones?
Windows, to better see each other out of.
Paint the walls to make it brighter.
Add doors, to access each of the different cultures, races and religions of this country.
Upgrade the phones, to better communicate and share with one another.
Don't mess with the foundation.... everything that was built on it, will fall if you do... It's strong enough to hold what we have now and ALOT more.
Leave it be.

Waco Trib Newspaper - Tea Party Rebuttal
From: Michael Simon, Waco Tea Party website administrator (http://wacoteaparty.com)
The Waco Tribune-Herald’s Carlos Sanchez must be a little confused. To clear it up for him, The National Tea Party Movement is a non-partisan, grassroots, movement that began on the trading floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange on February 19, 2009. Television commentator Rick Santelli went on his now famous rant against the absurdity of deficit spending by our government to bail out irresponsible behavior. As he was watching the market plummet, he riled up traders on the floor of the exchange to a loud and boisterous applause when he called for a modern-day Tea Party.
And thus began the movement that has come all the way to Waco, Texas. It has spread like wildfire among the American People, through the Internet, e-mail, text messaging, and phone lines. This movement is not a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, GOP, RNC, DNC, LMNOP, whatever acronym movement. It is a pure grassroots, underground movement “of the people, by the people,” so that “We The People” can simultaneously express our concerns to our government that we hire.
Political parties of all walks want to leach on to this as if it is their on. A good reporter would recognize this and not call out the movement, but call out the political party itself for playing the same old political games that has caused such an uproar of the American People.
Carlos Sanchez got it wrong. He got it wrong due to the overt partisanship and liberal leaning of his newspaper and the entire organization that it represents. He reported it from his own biased opinion, relaying his opinion as fact, rather than from the unbiased standpoint of fact-finding and truth-telling that we expect from the people that deliver the news. We have come to expect that from the media. It is evident in their decline in subscriptions, readers, and viewers. It is a sad day when the people who deliver the news find it more important that readers know where the reporters stand on the issues rather than doing their jobs, finding the facts, and reporting them as such. We are fully capable of making up our own minds, and that is scary to people with an agenda.
The National Tea Party Movement, and thus the movement happening right here in Waco on April 15 and beyond, is not dedicated to a party, a media outlet, or any other establishment that has become a beacon of revile to the people. It is about the People. It is about expressing The People’s frustrations in a raw display of public discourse guranteed by our Constitution, and encouraged by the very people who wrote it as a way of protecting and securing the Republic they founded.
On April 15 the voice of the Silent Majority will be heard. We will be “Silent No More!” It is time we stand up and do our due diligence to ensure that this and future generations of Americans retain the freedoms that have been so diligently fought for in our short, but storied history. This is our time. This is our moment, and above all, this is our government. It is time that we send that reminder to those that serve us in Washington. It is time that we are represented by our Representative Republic.
Stand up with us and let your voice be heard on April 15 as Waco joins over 600 cities “from Sea to Shining Sea” in an event that is sure to leave a mark on history for generations to come.
To read Carlos Sanchez's uninformed and totally WRONG Op-Ed, Carlos Sanchez: Democracy vs. demagoguery
The TEA PARTIES are NOT A REPUBLICAN, DEMOCRATIC or Other political centered organization, it is NON-PARTISAN! It is about Americans!
Please write to Carlos Sanchez and tell him he needs to put forth the effort to RESEARCH what he says, and inform the TRUTH, not what he "Feels", here is his e-mail: (csanchez@wacotrib.com) or even CALL him at: 254-757-5703

Heart 4 Capitalism and some Thoughts about Capitalism
Here's something interesting and a very cute Idea!
Go out to http://heart4capitalism.com/ and take a look.
Heart 4 Capitalism is a privately funded institution dedicated to
recognizing and preserving the historically significant designs,
images, photography and art that reflects the great tax tea parties
of 2009. Read more on their site! http://heart4capitalism.com/
About Capitalism in general, it actually does work. Contrary to what the News Media and the Congress flunkies want everyone to believe. Capitalsm right now is under attack because what we have today, is NOT really Capitalism. Its a mixture of Capitalism and Socialism, which does not work.
Go out and look at the proof. We as a Capitalist nation, have built a strong and desired country. Now, since Socialism has mixed with it, and the people that are in charge are embarrased that we are so powerful in the world.. They feel GUILTY that we have, whereas others may not have... They feel self-important...... , now it is struggling to keep its head above water. With the weight of Socialism trying to drown it.
Socialism in the United States of America ...... M U S T B E S T O P P E D ! ! ! ! !

President Hating, who is really to blame?
"Bush forces U.S. into illegal War", "Obama causes Stocks to Rise and Fall!".
I am sure you all hear stuff like that and more. "Try Bush for War Crimes". if you believe that. YOUR HATE of 8 years of President Bush, is misdirected!!!
Pay Close attention.... these are FACTS you won't here the News Media admit to.
#1. The President does NOT have the power to send the nation to war. It takes an ACT of Congress. (The President can send in the US Marine Corps in for 90 days without congressional approval).
#2. The President does NOT have the power to RAISE or decrease our taxes. It takes an ACT of Congress.
#3. The President does NOT have the power (directly) to bring our Troops home. It takes an ACT of Congress. (Congress can actually override the President, and return our troops home).
#4. The President does NOT have the freedom to spend our Tax dollars... Congress spends it.
ALL these are FACTS, that the Biased and MORONIC News Media, keep blaming on the President.. whether it is Bush or Obama or even Clinton! The Media protects Congress from being the responsible entity, by fabricating "News", reporting only half the story, and perpetually misleading the people... You see it all over! CBS reports a fabricated story... and Mr. Dan Rather, buries his career on it. News Articles and reports that are all out lies and doctored photographs!!!
Here in lies the "Conspiracy Theory". Lawmakers (i.e. Congress)... Could pass a law, holding all news agencies, LIABLE and ACCOUNTABLE for falsly reporting information to the American People...... But why would Congress do that now? When everything BAD that is happening, from the Economy to the War on Terror, can be blamed (by the News Media) on the President? and leave Congress free and clear?
Remember the 4 little facts I presented above? How much do the American People, REALLY know? Only what they catch "On the News". Whether its CNN, MSNBC, CBS, FOX NEWS,.... they all point the finger at the President.
I may not like President Obama, I didn't vote for him.. But he is still MY president. And I know the facts as to what is going on and who is to blame......... Do you?

Waco Tea Party *EVENING* Venue change

***Evening Venue Change!***
The Waco Tea Party Organizers have made the decision to change the location of our evening event. This decision was made as the result of the overwhelming response we have received from the community. We have grown, and we continue to receive your fantastic responses! Keep them coming!
We are still doing two events on April 15! The Afternoon Event will remain Heritage Park across the street from City Hall at 11:30-1:30.
The evening event, from 5:00-7:00, will be the Waco Suspension Bridge at Indian Springs Park.
This is the first round of Tax Day Tea Parties in the Waco area; many more events are planned. We would like to invite you, your family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, church groups, and other affiliations to attend.
April 15, 2009: Two events: Afternoon & Evening
Afternoon Event: Tax Day, April 15, 11:30-1:30 at Heritage Park in downtown Waco, located across 3rd Street from City Hall:
Waco, Texas 76701
Evening Event: Tax Day, April 15, 5:00-7:00 at the Waco Suspension Bridge at Indian Springs Park
What to bring: chairs, signs, banners, flags, and indignation at the outrageous taxation and spending by our President and Congress
We are also conducting a "We the People" food drive. Show your generosity by bringing non-perishable food items with you to our events. We want to show people that the generosity of ordinary Americans is far superior than any government could provide using our tax dollars.
If you would like more information, you can contact us at WacoTeaParty@gmail.com or on our Facebook page.
There will be 8 more protests leading up to the election in 2010. We will be announcing E-TEA alerts and TEA Flashes periodically, so make sure you sign up for the "TEA Bag" by E-mailing us or on Facebook.

Need a sign and don't have one? Here's what to do.
These are just some common ways to make eye catching protest signs, and some sensible suggestions. Posterboard and Wood are of course the primary materials. Essentially, its all about the message you want to put out to everyone, and your support for the protest/event you are attending.
1st. Decide what message you want to put on the sign. Its important to make it catchy and still make the meaning clear.
2nd. Stay away from derogatory comments and use of foul language. Keep the focus on your message, and not on violent or harrassing content.
3rd. GRAMMAR! Pay close attention to what you are writing, and spell it correctly. Otherwise, the message will get lost when people read it and not take it seriously due to poor grammar.
4th. Depending on how big you make the sign itself, keep the message and lettering clear. Don't put a paragraph on a 20x20 posterboard, use color and flare to emphasize the strong points of your message, but keep it short.
5th. Re-inforce the backing of the sign, with small strips of thin wood or thick cardboard. A nice box, cut into strips and glued to the back of the posterboard around the edges, keeps it ridged and strong to stay up in wind.
6th. Just a regular wooden stake, 4ft long (easily found at any hardware store) used to mark borders or property lines. You can either use regular wood glue to afix the stake to the sign or thumb tacks, or both work.
The most important thing, is to stick with the message. For the Waco Tea Party, here are some suggestions.
WAKE UP WACO!
T.E.A.
(Taxed Enough Already)
No more Taxes for Bailouts!
SILENT MAJORITY
NO MORE!!!
TERM LIMITS NOW!!!!
But come up with your own.
Remember, the T.E.A. Parties are about Taxes! Lack of Representation in Washington, Misuses of our Taxes Dollars.... This isn't against any political party, or against our President or former Presidents. Its about Americans no longer silent, and to tell the rest of our great nation, that WE can take care of ourselves.. and that we do not need big government to tell us what we can or cannot do.
